Cosmetic Surgery vs Safe Anti Aging Skin Care?
![]()
I’m always a little curious about people who elect to have some type of cosmetic surgery in order to anti age their skin. Those who have successful lifts or tucks do generate a rave review (and a comment on being so brave!) in how great they look.
But do they consider an alternative to safe anti aging skin care previous to this decision to go under the knife?
I’ve seen too many not-so-pretty results of cosmetic surgery; and my heart goes out to those who experience, sadly, a botched up job (or too many lifts leaving a less than natural look) that confirms my opposition to undergo any such type of a procedure.
This is not a judgment call…to each her (or his) own…but the rush to surgery might be countered with a trial of safe products designed to reverse aging skin.
Anti aging can be accomplished just as effectively with healthy and safe skin care products. The thing is that most people want it to happen really quickly. In my observations, those who opt for facial cosmetic surgery take several months before their new anti aging skin looks anything akin to rejuvenated.
In a recent post the mention of Rosehip Seed Oil, for example, can produce extraordinary results for premature, dry and aged skin…in about a four month period. There is virtually no risk in such a (natural) product and the time frame is about the same as cosmetic surgery, not to mention at a greatly reduced cost. Why, then, wouldn’t one consider using such a product before electing to surgery? Again, it’s that instant gratification thing.
But there are risks too with using cosmetic products; some include ingredients of known toxic chemicals that have been linked to both birth defects and cancer. The safest step to knowing which products to use involves a little research.
Researching anti aging skin care products doesn’t necessarily mean a trip to the cosmetic counter or local drug store, at least not initially. Better to start online. First, you might want to consider visiting the website of an organization that is committed to making cosmetic companies accountable for their products for the benefit of the consumer.
Safe Cosmetics . org, started, in 2004, sending letters out to the major cosmetic manufactures whose products were sold in the United States, pleading them to eliminate toxic chemicals from their products. There are now over 1,000 skin care cosmetic companies who have signed this campaign and have eliminated known toxic chemicals in the manufacturing process of their products. (see website for list of companies)
A second aspect to researching anti aging skin care products: Review the company corporate website. How transparent are they? What is their focus…safety or sales? Is their commitment to that of the consumers well being and health made clear? What manufacturing methods do they employ?
Information regarding safe anti aging skin care products will ultimately serve the consumer. And if a particular safe product can make a profound difference in reversing tired aged skin to that of a more youthful look…then this rush to cosmetic surgery might slow down and reduce the number of badly botched jobs from ever happening.
