Happy Earth Day! Keep Beautiful
Growing up in the 60′s, an entire generation would recall the beginnings of Earth Day with an idea to keep beautiful our precious planet. How the concept evolved, more or less on its own, started when US Senator Nelson held a massive protest questioning the degradation of the environment, though little was understood at that time about the plight of rain forests.
Look how far that movement has evolved! Over the past thirty one years, around the globe, programs benefiting the earth and its inhabitants include recycling, stricter regulations aimed to clean-up rivers, streams and oceans as well as attention to the clear cutting of rainforests and air quality control.
We’ve come along way, yes indeedy, but the pressure continues. And that is why, for the beauty of the earth to continue we acknowledge Earth Day. As a reminder to keep the fight. Do our bit. And support the work of groups and organizations who take on the offenders.
Earth Day Songs
Earth Day is celebrated in all types of venues: faires, fund raisers, contests and most importantly within schools. With an emphasis on educating the youth of our planet, the good fight will continue. Awareness and education of the fragile earth provided by teachers to the youngest students, kindergarten through 3rd grade, makes an impact for their future and the environment. They paint, sing Earth Day songs, read books and share what they learn at home .
Rainforest Kids
Years ago, a mother and daughter living in Manual Antonio, Costa Rica were acutely aware of the fragility of the tropical forests and the threat to the animals. Their concern to do something to keep beautiful and rehabilitate animals led to the development of Kids Saving The Rainforest (KSTR), co-founded by 16 year old Janine Licare. Janine’s personal commitment and passion flowered an impressive number of environmental and educational projects all designed to protecting and preserving their corner of the planet.
While this blog mostly refers to the topic about how to keep beautiful our skin, hair and the health aspect of anti aging, today is Earth Day and it’s important. So sing a song, volunteer, donate…anything, something. Don’t leave it all up to the organizations and kids. This planet belongs to all.
Happy Earth Day!
